Year 3 had a great day out at Tanglewood in Cannock Chase. We started the day off with building Stone Age dens! The children worked in their groups to find long sticks and foliage to create their fantastic dens. They then huddled inside their dens and tested how waterproof it was by having water tipped over the top. They loved this! Next up, we had a Stone Age bingo game to play before we ate our lunch. In the afternoon, we learnt all about archery and the importance of it in the Stone Age. The children were tasked with hunting a woolly mammoth! Finally, we ended the day with learning how to use flint to start a fire which they then huddled and ate marshmallows around. It was a fantastic day!
