Year 4 Visit to Girl's High

Children explored the use of colour, images and the shading and representations of fire, smoke, transport and industry. We used the paintings to ask questions about what we saw and what people's lives were like in the Industrial Revolution.
After hearing his presentation, we set to work using our sketching and blending skills to create a piece of artwork representing what we had seen.
After lunch, we had a creative writing session. We analysed an author's language choices in a poem and then used colour synonyms and descriptive language to create our own short poem to fit our artwork.
