Welcome back to our last term in Year 5 - we hope that you have had an enjoyable Easter break.

Our timetable in year 5 will remain the same, however, occasionally changes will need to be made; should this be necessary we will inform you in advance.

For more information about our learning this term, please click on the curriculum overview.

P.E

PE sessions for this term are as follows:

  • Class 16 – Tuesday and Thursday

  • Class 17 – Tuesday and Thursday

  • Class 18 – Monday swimming and Thursday

.We would like to remind parents that children must come to school in their correct PE kit on PE days. The required PE kit consists of:

  • Black shorts

  • A white top (T-shirt or polo shirt)

  • Pumps (or appropriate footwear)

An outdoor kit is also recommended as the weather warms up (fingers crossed!), and a hat or cap would be useful for sunny days. Please ensure that all uniform items, including PE kit and pumps, are labelled with your child’s full name and class. This will help us return any misplaced items quickly. Additionally, as per our Health and Safety guidelines, no jewellery should be worn on PE days, with the exception of stud earrings. Please ensure your child does not wear jewellery on PE days for their safety.

Spellings

The phonics and spelling groups which began last term will continue weekly. Your child may be with a different teacher for this and will be given a set of spellings from them. In addition, all children will continue to receive 10 class spellings. Both of these will be given and tested on Mondays..

Reading books linked to their ability will continue, it is really important that children are read with regularly.  This may be the sharing their school reading book with you or sharing a ‘reading for pleasure’ book together.

A reminder that the gate to the playground will be opened at 8.45am; children should arrive after this time. This will be locked at 9:00am and any children arriving after this time will need to report to the main office.

We look forward to continue working with you and would like to thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions/queries, please do not hesitate to speak to us.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
