Outstanding Effort from Our Year 4 Team
We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 football team, who competed against a number of schools from across the city. Throughout the tournament, the team demonstrated excellent skill, teamwork, and determination, with some outstanding examples of passing, movement, and collaboration on the pitch. Celebrating 100 Years of Sir David Attenborough
On Friday 8th May, we celebrated the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough. During the day, the children learnt about this inspirational man through a range of engaging activities. We used the occasion to focus on our writing skills, with children across the school writing in a variety of genres linked to the work and achievements of this amazing man. Year 1 Jurassic Hunter Inspiration Day!
Year 1 had a roar-some time on their Dinosaur Inspiration Day! The children became real-life palaeontologists as they explored and investigated, carefully digging and brushing to uncover hidden fossils. They were fascinated to learn about dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops, and discovered how fossils help us understand life from millions of years ago. Children’s Mental Health Week is a valuable opportunity to reflect on how we care for our mental and emotional wellbeing. Throughout the week, the children have taken part in activities focused on wellbeing, self-expression, and recognising what helps them feel calm, confident, and supported. A huge well done to all the students who participated in the recent STEM Challenge! Our incredible bridge builders showed remarkable creativity and problem-solving skills. Year 1 Become Animal Diet Detectives!
Year 1 became animal experts this week as they turned into poo detectives in their science lesson! By carefully examining different types of 'animal poo', the children worked out whether it came from a herbivore, carnivore or omnivore. There were lots of great discussions, brilliant thinking and plenty of giggles as the children discovered how an animal’s diet can leave important clues behind!


Year 1 Visit Residential Home
As part of our Unity in the Community topic, Year 1 had a fantastic experience visiting a local residential home! We received a warm welcome from both residents and staff and were treated to a drink and a biscuit. Afterwards, we sang some nursery rhymes and were met with lovely praise from the residents. Dogs Trust Visit Year 1
Year 1 welcomed a visit from Dogs Trust. The children were taught how to stay safe around dogs and how to be responsible and kind when interacting with animals.


Veolia Visit Year 1
Year 1 enjoyed a fun and informative visit from Veolia, a company that works to improve and protect the environment. The visit supported the children’s Geography learning by helping them understand how our environment can be cared for, improved, and sustained.


Year 1 Learns Road Safety
Crossing the road safely is an essential skill and Year 1 have learned how to cross the road safely with our 'School Crossing Patrol' Officer. They were taught how to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN and how to find a safe place to cross. The children learnt through fun role play and even learnt a song to help them remember the rules of crossing the road safely! They can't wait to put their skills into practise on their next community walk.


P.E In Action - Reception and Year 1
Children in Reception are beginning their gymnastics learning journey through a fun and engaging space-themed approach. Children in Year 1 have been practising dribbling a ball in football FUNdamentals, developing control, coordination and spatial awareness.


Year 1 Shape Superstars!
Year 1 have been busy in maths learning all about 3D shapes! They have also made pentomino and tetramine arrangements! A tetromino is made from 4 squares joined edge to edge and a pentomino is made from 5 squares joined edge to edge.


Year 1 - Unity in the Community!
As part of our inspiration day to launch our new topic, Unity in the Community , Year 1 enjoyed a local walk around the area surrounding our school, where they looked carefully for different road signs. During the walk, the children identified a range of signs and symbols and discussed the actions they tell us to take, such as stop, slow down, or speed up. They also learned about the Green Cross Code and put it into practice safely when crossing several roads. The children ca


Year 1 Explore our Local Community
Children in Year 1 have been learning all about road safety. They explored how to stay safe near roads using the Green Cross Code. The children then put their learning into action by taking a walk around the local community, where they confidently identified different road signs and street names. Everyone showed excellent awareness and responsibility, making it a very successful and enjoyable learning experience.


Year 1 Winter Scientists!
Year 1 became winter scientists! They wrapped up warm and went outside for a science winter hunt in the snow. The children explored their surroundings and used their senses to discover how winter changes our world.


PCSO Visits Key Stage 1
Our local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) visited Key Stage 1 to talk to the children about stranger danger and the importance of recognising safer strangers. During the session, the children listened carefully and took part in discussions about different everyday scenarios. Together, they explored what to do if they ever feel worried or unsure, and who they can go to for help. The PCSO explained that not all strangers are unsafe and helped the children identify safer


Winter Wonders in Year 1!
Year 1 had a fantastic time today looking for signs of winter as part of their science learning. The children explored the school grounds with great excitement and curiosity, and they were thrilled to discover snow along the way! It was a wonderful hands-on experience that helped them spot seasonal changes and enjoy the magic of winter.
