Year 1 

Thank you to all the parents and  grandparents who joined Year 1  for their DT workshop.  It was great to see so many of you helping your child create a bag for Tinkerbell! The children designed their bag using suitable materials and took into account the fairy's requirements.  We were impressed with the finished products and the children's sewing skills. 

These workshops are wonderful. I love being able to be part of Autumn's school day!

Year 3 

We focussed on animation during our topic 'Thats all folks'. We created some zoetropes in the style of those used hundreds of years ago for animation and created our own design to animate.  We also designed and made a flipbook which created a moving image.

Following research, children designed and made a prototype of a sleeping place suitable for a soldier. Through this experience, the children learned valuable lessons about problem-solving and collaboration.

The children's mission in Year 5 was to design and make a time keeping device suitable for an astronaut! It had the basic functions of a watch as well as additional features to fit with the astronaut's life.
