Champions Again!
After winning their area event and then going on to win the city finals, our incredible team competed in the Black Country Games against the very best schools from across the region. Fantastic Football Success
Elston children were in action once again against Rakegate Primary School, this time with our Year 1 and Year 2 teams taking to the pitch. Our Year 2 children secured a convincing victory, showcasing excellent passing, movement, and teamwork throughout the game. Ollie and Ryan were outstanding at the back, playing through the lines on numerous occasions to launch attacks. Roman, Chase, Harry, George, and Callum all contributed with an impressive collection of goals and assist


Celebrating 100 Years of Sir David Attenborough
On Friday 8th May, we celebrated the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough. During the day, the children learnt about this inspirational man through a range of engaging activities. We used the occasion to focus on our writing skills, with children across the school writing in a variety of genres linked to the work and achievements of this amazing man. Year 2 Visit to West Midlands Safari Park
Year 2 had an exciting and memorable trip to West Midlands Safari Park as part of their “Going Wild” topic and science learning. The children were full of excitement on the coach, eagerly anticipating the animals they would see. During the safari, they spotted a wide range of incredible animals, including lions, antelopes, elephants, giraffes and camels, to name just a few! Football Stars Impress Against Grammar School!
Seventeen boys and girls from Years 2, 3, and 4 took part in an exciting 7-a-side football friendly against Wolverhampton Grammar School. Both teams were outstanding, demonstrating excellent teamwork, passing, movement, and some fantastic goals throughout. The boys delivered a superb performance, winning their game 8–2. Year 2 Strike Gold!
We are incredibly proud of our Year 2 Multiskills team, who once again represented the school brilliantly in a competition involving 10 schools from across the city. Elston achieved the highest scores in 8 out of 10 events on the day, earning an impressive gold medal. This is a remarkable accomplishment, especially considering that 50 schools initially entered the competition earlier in the year, with Elston securing 1st place overall. Elston Hall’s Young Rock Stars Take the Stage
Elston Hall hosted an exciting Rocksteady concert featuring five talented bands with students from Year 2 to Year 5. The concert kicked off with the Elston Rockers brilliant rendition of ‘Stargazing.’ Following them, Lightning Storm took the stage, with a wonderful performance of ‘Roar.’ The Blackstar Jammers performed ‘Ghostbusters,’ encouraging plenty of audience participation that had everyone singing along! Dress to Express!
Children’s Mental Health Week is a valuable opportunity to reflect on how we care for our mental and emotional wellbeing. Throughout the week, the children have taken part in activities focused on wellbeing, self-expression, and recognising what helps them feel calm, confident, and supported. Year 2 Shine at All Aboard Festival!
A group of Year 2 students traveled to Aldersley Leisure Village to participate in the 'All Aboard Festival.' The children had a fantastic time engaging in various activities, including serving in volleyball, keeping time in dance, improving accuracy in golf, and developing coordination in tennis. They worked diligently and received numerous compliments for their excellent listening skills and effort. Well done, everyone!


Year 2 Reflexions Workshop
Promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing throughout our school community is a vital part of our school life. The Reflexions team visited Year 2 to lead a workshop on understanding and managing feelings and emotions.


Year 2 Triumph at Multiskills Event
10 of our Year 2 children represented Elston Hall at the Multiskills event held at St Chads. The children competed as a team to score points in a variety of events using skills such as throwing and catching, jumping, running and balancing. For the children, it was their first time competing in such an event and representing school. They worked amazingly well and were winners of the event meaning they move onto the finals, against other school across the city later in the term


PCSO Visits Key Stage 1
Our local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) visited Key Stage 1 to talk to the children about stranger danger and the importance of recognising safer strangers. During the session, the children listened carefully and took part in discussions about different everyday scenarios. Together, they explored what to do if they ever feel worried or unsure, and who they can go to for help. The PCSO explained that not all strangers are unsafe and helped the children identify safer


Year 2’s Exciting Author Visit from Natalie Pritchard!
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed their visit from the author Natalie Pritchard. She shared one of her stories 'Sully the Seahorse' with us and explained how to become an author. Children thoroughly enjoyed asking Natalie questions about her books and the life of an author. They also shared some of their writing with Natalie, who was very impressed!
