Gold Medal Victory
Year 4 pupils demonstrated outstanding racket skills while competing against schools from across the city. Elston entered two teams, both of which performed exceptionally well. Team A won every match, securing an impressive 1st place overall and bringing home the gold for Elston. Football Stars Impress Against Grammar School!
Seventeen boys and girls from Years 2, 3, and 4 took part in an exciting 7-a-side football friendly against Wolverhampton Grammar School. Both teams were outstanding, demonstrating excellent teamwork, passing, movement, and some fantastic goals throughout. The boys delivered a superb performance, winning their game 8–2. Fire Safety in Year 4
Fire officers visited our Year 4 class to deliver the SPARKS programme. During the session, the children learned about the common causes of fires and discussed practical ways to prevent them in everyday situations. They were encouraged to think carefully about fire safety at home and in school, including the importance of recognising potential hazards. Elston Hall’s Young Rock Stars Take the Stage
Elston Hall hosted an exciting Rocksteady concert featuring five talented bands with students from Year 2 to Year 5. The concert kicked off with the Elston Rockers brilliant rendition of ‘Stargazing.’ Following them, Lightning Storm took the stage, with a wonderful performance of ‘Roar.’ The Blackstar Jammers performed ‘Ghostbusters,’ encouraging plenty of audience participation that had everyone singing along! Elston Girls Impress at Football Festival
Many of our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils recently attended a football festival at Aldersley Leisure Village. Elston entered two teams, both of whom demonstrated excellent teamwork and commitment throughout the event. Team 1, led by Mr Turner, recorded two wins, one draw, and two losses, showcasing strong collaboration and determination in every match. Year 4 Roman Day
As part of our topic, You’re Not Invited , Year 4 brought history to life through an exciting workshop led by Humph’s Histories. The children learned several Latin phrases and discovered where key Roman events fit within British history. They examined a variety of weapons, armour and other historical sources to deepen their understanding of the past. Children’s Mental Health Week is a valuable opportunity to reflect on how we care for our mental and emotional wellbeing. Our local PCSO visited Year 4 to talk about staying safe online, including how to use social media responsibly and how to recognise and respond to cyberbullying.


Year 4 Shine in Drama Workshop!
Year 4 were lucky enough to take part in an exciting drama workshop! During the session, the children participated in a variety of exercises designed to boost their confidence and help them speak confidently in front of an audience. Year 4 ‘Lit-Up Their Learning’ with an Electrifying Lego Workshop!
Year 4 'lit-up their learning' this week, with our fabulous Lego Electricity workshop. With our visitor, Stephen, we discussed settlements and which Human and Physical features we would find in them. Using our Geography sticky knowledge, we then we created our own town buildings, using our creative skills. Working collaboratively, we then used roads to connect up our buildings to make our city! We added physical features like water, green spaces and plants and human features
