Wellbeing Ambassadors to Health Champions!
Our Year 4/ and Year 5 Wellbeing Ambassadors worked with Grace from the Wolves Foundation as part of the 'Health Champions' programme. Year 4 Celebrate Father's Day

Another Elston team to be proud of!
This time it was our Year 4 cricketers, who competed in the County Finals at Fordhouses Cricket Club. The children faced some of the best school cricket teams in the county and produced an incredible performance throughout the day. Elston began the tournament with a fantastic 99–49 victory. Another Successful Day for our Cricket Teams!
This time it was our Year 4 team competing against schools from across the city. The team finished in 1st place, achieving an impressive average of 106 runs throughout the day – an outstanding score and a testament to their skill and determination. Year 4 Multiplication Tables Checks
A reminder for parents and carers that the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) will take place in the 2 week period after half term. Celebrating 100 Years of Sir David Attenborough
On Friday 8th May, we celebrated the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough. During the day, the children learnt about this inspirational man through a range of engaging activities. We used the occasion to focus on our writing skills, with children across the school writing in a variety of genres linked to the work and achievements of this amazing man. Rainforest Workshop in Year 4
Year 4 were thrilled to welcome Rainforest Dave to school to kick off their new thematic learning project, Under the Canopy. From the very start, he had the children captivated – and would you believe he’s visited a rainforest over 60 times! During the day, the children had the incredible opportunity to meet and even hold a Madagascan millipede and a tarantula. What an unforgettable experience for everyone!


Gold Medal Victory
Year 4 pupils demonstrated outstanding racket skills while competing against schools from across the city. Elston entered two teams, both of which performed exceptionally well. Team A won every match, securing an impressive 1st place overall and bringing home the gold for Elston. Football Stars Impress Against Grammar School!
Seventeen boys and girls from Years 2, 3, and 4 took part in an exciting 7-a-side football friendly against Wolverhampton Grammar School. Both teams were outstanding, demonstrating excellent teamwork, passing, movement, and some fantastic goals throughout. The boys delivered a superb performance, winning their game 8–2. Fire Safety in Year 4
Fire officers visited our Year 4 class to deliver the SPARKS programme. During the session, the children learned about the common causes of fires and discussed practical ways to prevent them in everyday situations. Elston Hall hosted an exciting Rocksteady concert featuring five talented bands with students from Year 2 to Year 5. Many of our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils recently attended a football festival at Aldersley Leisure Village. The children learned several Latin phrases and discovered where key Roman events fit within British history. Our local PCSO visited Year 4 to talk about staying safe online, including how to use social media responsibly and how to recognise and respond to cyberbullying.


Year 4 Shine in Drama Workshop!
Year 4 were lucky enough to take part in an exciting drama workshop! During the session, the children participated in a variety of exercises designed to boost their confidence and help them speak confidently in front of an audience.
