Science Club
This week, we looked at water density and managed to 'layer' the colours of water using different amounts of salt in each colour of water. Last week, we looked at surface tension by dropping water droplets onto different sized coins to see how many we could reach before they spilled.

Computer Club
Our children have been having a fantastic time in Computer Club using Studio.code.org to explore the world of coding. Through fun, interactive activities, the children have been learning the basics of coding while developing problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork skills.

Science Club
The children discussed what would happen if we put hot water onto a plate of skittles and they thought that the sugar coating would dissolve, leaving the trail of colour. We went outside to understand why the skittles would make a rainbow path and the children learnt that it was because the sugar wanted to diffuse to an area with less sugar, which meant that it would travel in a straight path towards the middle of the plate. Elston Hall’s Young Rock Stars Take the Stage
Elston Hall hosted an exciting Rocksteady concert featuring five talented bands with students from Year 2 to Year 5. The concert kicked off with the Elston Rockers brilliant rendition of ‘Stargazing.’ Following them, Lightning Storm took the stage, with a wonderful performance of ‘Roar.’ The Blackstar Jammers performed ‘Ghostbusters,’ encouraging plenty of audience participation that had everyone singing along! Black Thunder, rocked the stage with ‘Another One Bites the Dus


Netball Club
The children have been working hard since their last Hub event developing their footwork, passing and defending skills in preparation for the next tournament in the summer term.


Chance to Shine Cricket Club
Children are thoroughly enjoying the Chance to Shine cricket club. Qualified coaches are helping the children develop key cricket, physical and life skills. The sessions are building their confidence both on and off the pitch.


Tag Rugby Club
The children really enjoyed playing a lively game of tag-rugby this week! Through this activity, they are developing a range of important skills. Physically, they’re improving their coordination, agility, and reaction times. Socially, they’re learning teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship. Cognitively, they’re building focus, quick thinking, and strategic decision-making. It’s wonderful to see everyone having fun while learning and staying active!

Well Done to Our Cheerleaders!
A big congratulations to our amazing cheerleaders who represented Elston at the City Diversity Celebration at the Halls in Wolverhampton! They performed in front of a large audience alongside many other schools—and stood out as the only cheerleaders at the event. The Elston All Stars thrilled the audience with an energetic mash-up of music, showcasing their talent, team spirit, and dedication. We couldn’t be prouder of their outstanding performance!
