Year 1 Celebrate Father's Day

Year 1’s Conkers Adventure
Year 1 had an exciting day at Conkers, packed with hands-on learning and outdoor adventures! The children explored animal adaptations on a nature trail, discovering how different animals have special features that help find food. They then put their learning into practice by creating their own mud monsters, carefully designing creatures with features to help them catch prey. Needless to say, everyone got wonderfully messy! The fun continued with a thrilling 4D film experience


Big Bang Science Fair 2026
A group of our children enjoyed an exciting visit to the Big Bang Science Fair in Birmingham. The event gave children the opportunity to explore a wide range of hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities, demonstrations and exhibits. Throughout the day, pupils engaged with interactive displays, met professionals from a variety of scientific and engineering careers, and discovered how science and technology shape the world around us. Getting Secondary School Ready
Year 6 were visited today by our local PCSO, who spoke to them about staying safe and looking after their belongings as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. The session provided valuable advice and practical tips to help pupils feel confident and secure in their new environment.


PCSO Visits Year 6
Year 6 pupils took part in an informative talk led by our local PCSO, focusing on antisocial behaviour and knife crime. The session was delivered in an age-appropriate way and helped pupils understand how their choices and actions can affect themselves and others. A Fun-Filled Trip to The Enormous Crocodile!
Reception children had a fantastic time visiting Shrewsbury Theatre to watch The Enormous Crocodile musical. All the children were exceptionally well-behaved and were a true credit to the school throughout the trip. As we entered the theatre, the room was filled with bubbles, much to the children’s delight! The Birmingham Open
Children from Elston Hall had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Birmingham Open at Edgbaston Priory Club. It was an exciting experience to watch elite male and female tennis players compete on grass courts at the highest level. We watched American Ashlyn Krueger with a rank of 29th in the world play against Australia’s Taylah Preston ranked 126th. Year 6 Bikability
Our Year 6 pupils took part in Level 2 Bikability training, developing the skills and confidence needed to cycle safely on local roads. They showed great enthusiasm, responsibility, and determination, making excellent progress and demonstrating the importance of safe cycling habits for life.

Rainforest Workshop in Year 4
Year 4 were thrilled to welcome Rainforest Dave to school to kick off their new thematic learning project, Under the Canopy. From the very start, he had the children captivated – and would you believe he’s visited a rainforest over 60 times! During the day, the children had the incredible opportunity to meet and even hold a Madagascan millipede and a tarantula. What an unforgettable experience for everyone!

Year 2 Visit to West Midlands Safari Park
Year 2 had an exciting and memorable trip to West Midlands Safari Park as part of their “Going Wild” topic and science learning. The children were full of excitement on the coach, eagerly anticipating the animals they would see. During the safari, they spotted a wide range of incredible animals, including lions, antelopes, elephants, giraffes and camels, to name just a few! Fire Safety in Year 4
Fire officers visited our Year 4 class to deliver the SPARKS programme. During the session, the children learned about the common causes of fires and discussed practical ways to prevent them in everyday situations. They were encouraged to think carefully about fire safety at home and in school, including the importance of recognising potential hazards. Elston Hall’s Young Rock Stars Take the Stage
Elston Hall hosted an exciting Rocksteady concert featuring five talented bands with students from Year 2 to Year 5. The concert kicked off with the Elston Rockers brilliant rendition of ‘Stargazing.’ Following them, Lightning Storm took the stage, with a wonderful performance of ‘Roar.’ The Blackstar Jammers performed ‘Ghostbusters,’ encouraging plenty of audience participation that had everyone singing along!
