Getting Secondary School Ready
Year 6 were visited today by our local PCSO, who spoke to them about staying safe and looking after their belongings as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. The session provided valuable advice and practical tips to help pupils feel confident and secure in their new environment.

Wow Badges – May Update
Our sports ambassadors have awarded 330 Wow badges for May. Children can continue to carry out their active travelling and remembering to log this each day in class to earn their next badge. Children only have to do one active type of travelling per week to earn a badge. Don't forget to send photos of your children actively travelling to school to add to our gallery!


PCSO Visits Year 6
Year 6 pupils took part in an informative talk led by our local PCSO, focusing on antisocial behaviour and knife crime. The session was delivered in an age-appropriate way and helped pupils understand how their choices and actions can affect themselves and others. Book Fair
We are delighted to welcome the Scholastic Book Fair to our school. The fair offers a fantastic selection of books for all ages and interests, helping to inspire a love of reading in our pupils. Every book purchased also helps to earn rewards for the school, allowing us to add even more books to our classrooms. We look forward to seeing families at the fair and hope everyone enjoys browsing the wonderful range of books available. Friday 5th June and Monday 8th June.


Sports Ambassadors Lead the Baton Handover
Our Sports Ambassadors did a fantastic job of passing on the Wolverhampton Community Games Baton to St Anthony's Primary School. The baton relay restarts its journey around schools across Wolverhampton following the half-term break. The children represented our school brilliantly and we are proud to be part of this community event and look forward to following the baton's progress as it travels around the city.


Proud to Receive the Baton
Our Sports Ambassadors (supported by our wonderful cheerleaders) received the Wolverhampton Community Games Baton as part of its journey around Primary and Secondary Schools in Wolverhampton. The torch started its journey on Monday at Ashmore Park Hub and has travelled around schools all week. Today, the torch was delivered by staff from Northwood Park who handed the baton to our Sports Ambassadors. The Ambassadors will then restart the baton's relay and deliver it to St Anth


Birthday Kindness!
A big shout out to one of our Year 1 children who, before coming to school this morning, chose to spend part of her birthday picking up litter in her community. How amazing is that? 🌍💚 🌍💚


Fire Safety in Year 4
Fire officers visited our Year 4 class to deliver the SPARKS programme. During the session, the children learned about the common causes of fires and discussed practical ways to prevent them in everyday situations. They were encouraged to think carefully about fire safety at home and in school, including the importance of recognising potential hazards. Reception’s Mother’s Day Celebration
Reception had a heartwarming celebration to honor all the special ladies in the children’s lives. The Mother's Day assembly was filled with joy and love, featuring beautiful singing and fabulous speaking as the children shared with the grown-ups why these women are so special to them. Year 3 Local Walk
As part of our ‘Out and About’ topic, Year 3 pupils have been exploring the local area around our school. Through local walks, the children have been identifying and observing human and physical features in their environment. These observations are helping the children develop an understanding of why our local area looks the way it does and how these features influence where buildings and roads are located.


Year 1 Phonics Workshop
Thank you to all the parents who attended our phonics workshop — it was wonderful to see so many of you there. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their learning with you! We hope you found the session useful in supporting your child’s reading at home and that it gave you a clear understanding of how we teach phonics in school.


Reception Maths Workshop: A Fun Learning Experience for Parents and Children!
Our Reception Maths Workshop was a big hit, with parents getting involved and joining in fun activities with their children. It was a great chance for everyone to see how we teach maths at school and how you can help your child at home in a fun way! Year 5 Girls Shine at STEM Discovery Day!
Six of our year 5 girls had a fantastic time today taking part in a day of STEM discovery at Wolverhampton Girls' High School. They made slime in science, built bridges in D & T and coded in computing. A great day was had by all and many of our girls are inspired to want to explore these subjects further. As usual, our children were a pleasure to accompany and represented Elston Hall well!


Reflexions Training
We were delighted to welcome Reflexions back to our school today, where they delivered training to our Wellbeing Champions to help promote positive wellbeing across the school community.


Year 6 Sewing Workshop
Year 6 children have been exploring War of the Worlds alongside history lessons on different wars and the symbolism of the poppy. In art, the children experimented with oil pastels and pencil crayons to design their own poppy sketches. In DT they practised sewing techniques like running stitch and back stitch on binca fabric. STEM Bridge Building Challenge
We have hosted an exciting STEM Bridge Building Challenge, and the results were nothing short of incredible! Children put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building their own bridges using a variety of materials. From popsicle sticks to straws, glue, and tape, the creativity and ingenuity on display were truly impressive. PCSO Visits Year 6
Our local PCSO visited our school to speak to Year 6 pupils about social media use and criminal responsibility. The session helped children understand how their online choices can have real-life consequences and how to stay safe and responsible both online and offline.


Year 1 Visit Residential Home
As part of our Unity in the Community topic, Year 1 had a fantastic experience visiting a local residential home! We received a warm welcome from both residents and staff and were treated to a drink and a biscuit. Afterwards, we sang some nursery rhymes and were met with lovely praise from the residents. Dogs Trust Visit Year 1
Year 1 welcomed a visit from Dogs Trust. The children were taught how to stay safe around dogs and how to be responsible and kind when interacting with animals.
