Year 6 children have been exploring War of the Worlds  alongside history lessons on different wars and the symbolism of the poppy. In art, the children experimented with oil pastels and pencil crayons to design their own poppy sketches. In DT they practised sewing techniques like running stitch and back stitch on binca fabric. We have hosted an exciting STEM Bridge Building Challenge, and the results were nothing short of incredible! Children put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building their own bridges using a variety of materials. From popsicle sticks to straws, glue, and tape, the creativity and ingenuity on display were truly impressive. The children's mission in Year 5 was to design and make a time keeping device suitable for an astronaut! It had the basic functions of a watch as well as additional features to fit with the astronaut's life.
