Well done to our Sports Ambassadors, who ran alongside Manny during his 50 miles across 50 schools event. The children proudly received a certificate to recognise Elston Hall’s participation in this fantastic event.

An enthusiastic group of children took part in a 'tabletop cricket' game this morning, organised by Staffordshire Cricket Club. They gathered around a specially designed tabletop cricket 'pitch', and worked in a small team, taking turns to bat, bowl and field using the scaled‑down equipment. Well done children for your amazing teamwork today!

We were delighted to welcome Manny to Elston Hall School as part of Manny’s Mile, a fantastic fundraising event raising money for Dementia UK. Over two days, Thursday 17th and Friday 18th September, Manny ran one mile at 50 primary schools to raise awareness and support this important charity. We are delighted to let you know that Elston Hall has been selected as one of 50 schools taking part in ‘Manny’s Mile’ to raise money for Dementia UK. Manny will be running one mile in 50 different primary schools across Wolverhampton over two days, and we are pleased that he will be visiting Elston Hall on Friday 18 September as part of his relay journey. Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic Sports Day, taking part in a range of fun and exciting activities. The children showed great teamwork, determination and enthusiasm as they cheered each other on, tried their best and celebrated everyone’s achievements.

Before the event began, our school proudly took part in the opening ceremony, completing a lap of the athletics track while showcasing our school flag, which was beautifully designed and created by the children. Our Elston Hall girls’ cricket team competed at Fordhouses Cricket Club, playing five matches, winning four and narrowly losing one by just a single run to The Willows Primary School. The team was outstanding throughout, showing exceptional teamwork, resilience, and determination. They finished 2nd across the county, out of more than 60 schools, a fantastic achievement and a historic first for Elston Hall, as this is the first girls’ team to reach the county finals. We are in

Our sports ambassadors have awarded 221 Wow badges for June. Children can continue to carry out their active travelling and remembering to log this each day in class to earn their next badge. Children only have to do one active type of travelling per week to earn a badge. Don't forget to send photos of your children actively travelling to school to add to our gallery!

A huge well done to our rounders team who competed in the finals at Wolverhampton Grammar School. The team had qualified for the finals earlier on in the term. They played 3 very competitive matches winning their first game 9 ½ rounders to 5 ½, narrowly losing their second match 7 rounders to 6 ½ rounders then drawing their final game 4 ½ rounders each. Unbelievably proud of our athletics team tonight, who represented Elston at the outdoor Track and Field Championships at Aldersley Leisure Village. Our children competed in 12 track events throughout the evening, including the 80m sprint, 150m, obstacle races and middle-distance events. A huge well done to our rounders team who played their rearranged tournament at Wolverhampton Grammar School against Perry Hall and two teams from Wolverhampton Grammar. Due to the heat, the event was played indoors meaning the children had to adapt quickly to a different format in the sport hall. This time it was our Year 4 cricketers, who competed in the County Finals at Fordhouses Cricket Club. The children faced some of the best school cricket teams in the county and produced an incredible performance throughout the day. Elston began the tournament with a fantastic 99–49 victory. After playing five fixtures, winning three and drawing two, the team reached the final, where they faced Pheasey Park, unfortunately we lost on penalties.
