What a day it has been at the Year 5 and 6 Cricket Competition across the city!🏏 Elston started brilliantly, topping their group with two impressive victories. A Successful Year for Netball

Having qualified for the event, the team played 7 very competitive matches with an extremely high standard of netball on show. The Birmingham Open
Children from Elston Hall had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Birmingham Open at Edgbaston Priory Club. It was an exciting experience to watch elite male and female tennis players compete on grass courts at the highest level. Fantastic Football Success
Elston children were in action once again against Rakegate Primary School, this time with our Year 1 and Year 2 teams taking to the pitch. Our Year 2 children secured a convincing victory, showcasing excellent passing, movement, and teamwork throughout the game. Ollie and Ryan were outstanding at the back, playing through the lines on numerous occasions to launch attacks. Elston Cricket City Championship Success! 🏏🥉
We took part in the Cricket City Championship today, with 15 schools competing for the title. The team topped their group, winning all 3 matches and finishing with an impressive average high score of 82 runs. This placed Elston 3rd overall out of the 15 schools, earning a place in the bronze medal match against the 4th-placed team. In a dramatic finish, Elston needed 8 runs from the final 2 balls. Sports Ambassadors Lead the Baton Handover
Our Sports Ambassadors did a fantastic job of passing on the Wolverhampton Community Games Baton to St Anthony's Primary School. The baton relay restarts its journey around schools across Wolverhampton following the half-term break. The children represented our school brilliantly and we are proud to be part of this community event and look forward to following the baton's progress as it travels around the city.


A Fantastic Third-Place Achievement!
Our Indoor Sports hall Team participated in the Sport Hall Finals against 9 teams from across the Black Country. They competed in a range of track and field events. We were thrilled that the children managed to finish 3rd overall (top finishing school in Wolverhampton) narrowly beaten by a school from Walsall and Dudley.

Outstanding Effort from Our Year 4 Team
We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 football team, who competed against a number of schools from across the city. Throughout the tournament, the team demonstrated excellent skill, teamwork, and determination, with some outstanding examples of passing, movement, and collaboration on the pitch. Proud to Receive the Baton
Our Sports Ambassadors (supported by our wonderful cheerleaders) received the Wolverhampton Community Games Baton as part of its journey around Primary and Secondary Schools in Wolverhampton. The torch started its journey on Monday at Ashmore Park Hub and has travelled around schools all week. Today, the torch was delivered by staff from Northwood Park who handed the baton to our Sports Ambassadors. The Ambassadors will then restart the baton's relay and deliver it to St Anth


Netball Team Through to City Finals!
A huge well done to representatives from our school netball team who participated in the netball tournament at St Chads. The team played 7 matches against local schools winning 5 and narrowly losing just two matches. The team showed great teamwork and determination, demonstrating an excellent standard of netball. We are immensely proud of the children who represented at this event, along with the other team members who have trained and showed dedication through the year. The


Year 5 & 6 Shine at Wolverhampton Swimming Gala
8 children from Year 5&6 competed in a swimming gala held at The Royal School in Wolverhampton. The children competed in individual and relay races against 10 other teams. Overall, the boys team finished 5th and the girls team finished 3rd demonstrating excellent teamwork and determination. A special well done to Evie who won gold in the 50m freestyle and our girls team (Evie, Penny, Ella & Zara) who won silver for their relay. A great effort from all of our team!

The girls were incredibly unlucky to lose on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the semi-finals. Alba gave us the perfect start, putting us ahead within the first five minutes, before Woodthorne found an equaliser just before half-time. We are incredibly proud of our girls’ football team! After a fantastic group stage, winning all four games, they faced a tough Uplands Primary School side in the quarter-finals. Year 4 pupils demonstrated outstanding racket skills while competing against schools from across the city. Elston entered two teams, both of which performed exceptionally well. Seventeen boys and girls from Years 2, 3, and 4 took part in an exciting 7-a-side football friendly against Wolverhampton Grammar School. Both teams were outstanding, demonstrating excellent teamwork, passing, movement, and some fantastic goals throughout. The boys delivered a superb performance, winning their game 8–2. Fantastic Team Effort at Aldersley Hockey Festival
Miss Maguire and Miss Foster were delighted to take nine children to the In2 Hockey Festival at Aldersley Leisure Village! The team took part in four 6‑a‑side games and finished joint 5th. The children played brilliantly as a team and learned so much throughout the afternoon. Umpires and parents commented on how noticeably each player improved as the tournament progressed. We are incredibly proud of our Year 2 Multiskills team, who once again represented the school brilliantly in a competition involving 10 schools from across the city. Elston achieved the highest scores in 8 out of 10 events on the day, earning an impressive gold medal. This is a remarkable accomplishment, especially considering that 50 schools initially entered the competition earlier in the year, with Elston securing 1st place overall.
