Unbelievably proud of our athletics team tonight, who represented Elston at the outdoor Track and Field Championships at Aldersley Leisure Village.
Our children competed in 12 track events throughout the evening, including the 80m sprint, 150m, obstacle races and middle-distance events. They also took part in a range of field events, showcasing their skills in both throwing and jumping.
The team delivered an incredible performance, bringing home an amazing 10 medals:
* 🥇 4 Gold Medals – 150m Boys, Obstacle Boys, 80m Boys and the Boys’ Relay Team (City Champions!)
* 🥈 3 Silver Medals – 150m Girls, 80m Girls and Obstacle Girls
* 🥉 3 Bronze Medals – 800m Boys, 400m Girls and the Girls’ Relay Team
Every child represented Elston with determination, resilience and fantastic sportsmanship. Their hard work and commitment truly shone through, and they should all be incredibly proud of what they achieved.
A special mention goes to our Year 6 athletes – Alba, Isaac, Kane, Shaye, Scarlett, Savannah, Penny, Noah and Kurtis – many of who have proudly represented Elston in athletics for several years. As they move on to Year 7, we want to thank them for everything they have given to our school. We are immensely proud of the confidence, resilience and progress they have shown during their time at Elston, and they will be greatly missed.
Congratulations to every member of the team on an outstanding evening. You have done yourselves, your families and Elston proud!
