Year 1 Step Back In Time!

Thursday 12th June

Year 1 children enjoyed a fantastic visit to the Black Country Living Museum as part of their history learning. The trip brought the past to life, giving the children a hands-on experience of what life was like during Victorian times.

One of the highlights of the day was discovering how toys have changed over the years. The children were fascinated to see and play with real Victorian toys on a cobbled street — a very different experience from the toys they’re used to today!

Another memorable moment was taking part in a traditional Victorian school lesson. Sitting in old-fashioned desks was exciting but by the end, everyone agreed that modern schools are definitely more fun and friendly!

Throughout the day, the children also explored Victorian houses, visited an old sweet shop, had a ride on an old bus and learned about daily life in the past. It was a fun-filled day packed with learning, and the children came back full of enthusiasm and new knowledge.

Well done, Year 1, for being such curious historians!
