Year 3 Travel Back to the Stone Age!
Year 3 had a fantastic day at Tanglewood, stepping back in time to experience life in the Stone Age!
When we arrived, the children impressed everyone with their knowledge and amazing Stone Age facts. They then headed outdoors to build their own shelters - Would their shelters withstand the watering can test? Every single shelter passed! What an achievement!
The children also had the exciting opportunity to learn how to start a fire using flint before heading indoors to enjoy their lunch.
After lunch, the children got creative by making their own clay thumb pots and having a go at creating cave drawings using clay, charcoal and chalk. These hands-on activities gave them a wonderful insight into how people in the Stone Age made and decorated objects.
To finish their fantastic day, the children gathered around the fire and enjoyed a delicious toasted marshmallow! What a brilliant way to bring their Stone Age learning to life through an exciting day of exploration, creativity and adventure!
