Year 6 children have been exploring War of the Worlds alongside history lessons on different wars and the symbolism of the poppy. In art, the children experimented with oil pastels and pencil crayons to design their own poppy sketches. In DT they practised sewing techniques like running stitch and back stitch on binca fabric. Using felt and embroidery thread, they created beautiful poppies, finishing them with buttons. The project culminated in a hands-on workshop where children proudly worked with their adult!
