World Book Day!
We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day in school. The children and staff arrived dressed as their favourite book characters, and it was fantastic to see so many creative and colourful costumes around the school. The children were also invited to bring in their favourite book from home. This gave them a great opportunity to share stories they love, recommend books to their friends, and talk about the characters and adventures they enjoy reading about. The theme fo


Year 1 Phonics Workshop
Thank you to all the parents who attended our phonics workshop — it was wonderful to see so many of you there. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their learning with you! We hope you found the session useful in supporting your child’s reading at home and that it gave you a clear understanding of how we teach phonics in school.

National Storytelling Week!
This week, we are excited to celebrate National Storytelling Week. To mark the occasion, five members of staff and one of our pupils have recorded themselves reading a story to share with our school community. Each reader has chosen a different language, allowing us to celebrate the rich linguistic diversity within our school. These videos will be shared on the school website throughout the week, we will share them in class to promote a love of stories, languages, and reading

Celebrating Reading Across Our School!
Our Reading Ambassadors shared their love of reading with some of our younger children this week. Visiting classes across the school, they read a festive Christmas story, bringing the magic of storytelling to life. It was wonderful to see the older pupils reading with confidence and enthusiasm, and the younger children listening so attentively. A lovely celebration of reading, community, and Christmas spirit!

Welcoming Birmingham University ITAP Students to Our School
We were delighted to welcome 13 students from Birmingham University as part of their ITAP (Initial Teacher Advancement Programme) placement. The focus of the day was on best practice in teaching phonics , and our staff were proud to showcase the high-quality provision taking place across school. World Nursery Rhyme Week 2025
Early Years have had SO much fun celebrating World Nursery Rhyme Week! We joined together as a Trust to sing our favourite nursery rhymes to each other via TEAMs — it was wonderful to see everyone joining in with such enthusiasm.
