We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day in school. The children and staff arrived dressed as their favourite book characters, and it was fantastic to see so many creative and colourful costumes around the school.
The children were also invited to bring in their favourite book from home. This gave them a great opportunity to share stories they love, recommend books to their friends, and talk about the characters and adventures they enjoy reading about.
The theme for the day was poetry, and the children had the opportunity to read, listen to, and explore different types of poems.
We were also very lucky to welcome a special visitor, Pep the Poet, who performed some of his own poetry and encouraged the children to join in and read poetry with him. The performances were lively, engaging, and inspired the children to enjoy poetry in a fun and interactive way.
World Book Day was a brilliant way to celebrate reading and remind everyone just how much joy a good book can bring.
