Teamwork and Triumph at the Table Cricket Event
Children worked well as a team to compete against other schools in a table cricket event, including some secondary schools. Children supported each other and showed great sportsmanship. Elston Hall were victorious and took home the medals and trophy!


National Storytelling Week Day 4

Team Elston Running Strong!
Our boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams competed at Fordhouses Cricket Club against 15 schools from across Wolverhampton and Bilston. A total of 168 pupils took part in the event, with Elston represented by 16 runners from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. We are incredibly proud to share that our girls’ team finished in 1st place, while our boys’ team narrowly missed out on a bronze medal, finishing an impressive 4th overall. Year 6 Science
Year 6 children learned all about the components and functions of blood. They discovered that blood is made up of four main parts: plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. To help them understand this better, the children took part in a fun hands-on activity. They used different everyday materials to represent each component of blood, showing how they all work together inside our bodies.

Today, our story is read in French by one of our amazing Year 4 children.


Netball Hub Event
A huge well done to our superb netballers who braved the cold, wet weather to play in the Netball Hub event held at St Chads. Elston Hall took 11 players to play as part of two mixed Year 5 and 6 teams. Despite the freezing conditions, the children played brilliantly. Team 2 lost one match, drew 2 and won 2 whilst Team 1 won 5 matches and drew one. Overall just one defeat out of 11 matches played!

National Storytelling Week!
This week, we are excited to celebrate National Storytelling Week. To mark the occasion, five members of staff and one of our pupils have recorded themselves reading a story to share with our school community. Each reader has chosen a different language, allowing us to celebrate the rich linguistic diversity within our school. These videos will be shared on the school website throughout the week, we will share them in class to promote a love of stories, languages, and reading


Dogs Trust Visit Year 1
Year 1 welcomed a visit from Dogs Trust. The children were taught how to stay safe around dogs and how to be responsible and kind when interacting with animals.


Veolia Visit Year 1
Year 1 enjoyed a fun and informative visit from Veolia, a company that works to improve and protect the environment. The visit supported the children’s Geography learning by helping them understand how our environment can be cared for, improved, and sustained.

Goals Galore as Elston Girls Shine Again!
Our girls’ footballers were back in action this week, taking on Fieldview Primary School, and they delivered another outstanding performance. Elston got off to the perfect start, scoring inside the opening 25 seconds with a calm, composed finish from Jess. The momentum didn’t stop there, and by half-time Elston had raced into a 5–0 lead, with goals from Alba (2), Jess (2) and Daniella. The goals kept coming in the second half, as Heidi and Jess added to the scoreline to round


Year 1 Learns Road Safety
Crossing the road safely is an essential skill and Year 1 have learned how to cross the road safely with our 'School Crossing Patrol' Officer. They were taught how to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN and how to find a safe place to cross. The children learnt through fun role play and even learnt a song to help them remember the rules of crossing the road safely! They can't wait to put their skills into practise on their next community walk.


Year 4 Online Safety Talk with Local PCSO
Our local PCSO visited Year 4 to talk about staying safe online, including how to use social media responsibly and how to recognise and respond to cyberbullying.


Year 3 Step Into Ancient Greece
Year 3 welcomed Steve from Humph’s Histories to enhance their history learning as part of their topic Athens v Sparta . During the day, the children learned all about Ancient Greece and Greek culture, and even had a go at solving the oldest puzzle in the world. They designed their own battle shields, using traditional Ancient Greek patterns and symbols, before learning that the Greeks loved their wine! Proud Performance at the Wolves Foundation 6-a-Side
Our girls proudly represented us at the Wolves Foundation 6-a-side competition. They were drawn into an extremely competitive group, with only a few points separating 2nd from 5th place. Although the girls were unfortunately knocked out in the group stages, they showed incredible resilience, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament. Year 2 Shine at All Aboard Festival!
A group of Year 2 students traveled to Aldersley Leisure Village to participate in the 'All Aboard Festival.' The children had a fantastic time engaging in various activities, including serving in volleyball, keeping time in dance, improving accuracy in golf, and developing coordination in tennis. They worked diligently and received numerous compliments for their excellent listening skills and effort. Well done, everyone!
